Elsie E. Mattie

Elsie Esther Mattie, 101, of La Crosse died peacefully Friday, April 23, 2021 at Hillview Health Care Center in La Crosse.

She was born Nov. 22, 1919 in Crooked Creek Township, Houston County, MN, to Julius and Clara (Esterle) Neumann. She married Archie C. Mattie March 24, 1937. They were married 49 years.

She is survived by her son Ronald Mattie; sister, Alice Hesselberg; two granddaughters, Deb (Don) Peterson, Vicki (Scott) Sheehan; grand son-in-law, Bill Poellinger; two great grandchildren, Jessica Larson, Ryan Sheehan; and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rose Pieper, Marie Heintz; bother, Edwin Neumann; daughter-in-law, Janice Mattie; granddaughters; Lori Mattie and Sue Poellinger; great grandchildren, Brian and Shawn Poellinger, Shannon Rochester.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
