Elizabeth Marta Boehm

Elizabeth M. (Nowakowski) Boehm of La Crescent, MN. Born in Orlowo, Gdynia, Poland May 6, 1940. Born to Eternal Life November 25, 2023, age 83 years. Preceded in death by her mother Martha Kopczynski, step-father Sigmund Kopczynski, father Stanislaus (Stanley) Nowakowski, father and mother in-law Henry and Susan Boehm, son-in-law Mark Johnson. Survived by her loving, devoted husband of 63 years, Joseph Boehm, eight beautiful children, Margaret Minegar, Anita (Paul), Joan (John) Moore, Jacqueline Doucet, Sandra Johnson, Paul Boehm, Sharon (John) Ender and Tracy (Matt) Barrett. And forever had kept the love and a place in her heart for her former sons-in-law, Ron Minegar, Brad Hunter, Steve Doucet and Charlie. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other dear relatives and friends including a special and dear friend since 1956 Dorothy Bauernfeind.

Betty had a golden heart with endless love ready to give it to anyone she would meet. She smiled with her eyes, laughed with her belly, liked to be silly. She was a farmer’s wife and had helped raise eight children while finding time to do crocheting, needle point and to knit afghans passionately. Most of all she was passionate about her family being together creating memories that filled her heart and soul. It is now that we are most grateful for those memories made for they keep her beautiful, loving spirit alive in us and in remembrance of her life so filled with love. She taught us that love conquers all. She is forever in our hearts, never to be forgotten and rests in the loving arms of Jesus she too so loved.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 2nd at the Church of the Crucifixion, 423 S. 2nd St., La Crescent, MN, 55947 La Crescent. Rev. John Evans II will officiate. Visitation will be held  from10:00-11:00.  Burial to follow at Crucifixion Cemetery, La Crescent, MN.
