Eileen Gamradt

Eileen B. C. Gamradt, 96, of La Crosse, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility.

Eileen was born in La Crosse on February 28, 1921, to William C. and Mary E. (Lehrke) Gamradt. She was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse where she had been active in the Ladies Aid for many years.

Eileen worked for Montgomery Ward in La Crosse for 40 years as an office clerk and later as a payroll manager until her retirement in 1987. Earlier in life, she worked at the Army Munitions Plant in Arden Hills, Minn., and also at Auto Lite in La Crosse and in an insurance office in Albuquerque, N. Mex.

Eileen loved animals, especially her cats which were “her kids”. She also enjoyed watching birds.

She is survived by her sister, Donna C. Flatten of La Crosse; nieces and nephews, Mary (Rick Schmidt) Morris-Schmidt, James (Michelle), John (Lauri), Tom (Cathy), Tim and Dan Morris, and their families; special cousin, George Voss of St. Paul, Minn.; as well as many other extended family members. In addition to her parents, Eileen was also preceded in death by her longtime companion, Percy D. Flynn; and her cats, Kate and Ayshia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 9 ^th , at First Ev. Lutheran Church, La Crosse. Pastor Richard Pamperin will officiate. Burial will follow in French Island Cemetery, La Crosse. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse is assisting the family.
