Edward F. Opdahl

Edward F. Opdahl, 92, of La Crosse, died on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Hillview Health Care Center. He was born on March 22, 1928 in La Crosse to Harry Le Roy and Gertrude (Merfeld) Opdahl. He married Carol J. Lawrence on May 20, 1950 in St. John’s Catholic Church, La Crosse. Ed had worked at La Crosse Plumbing Supply for many years. Ed and Carol were also foster parents to over 50 babies. Ed enjoyed gardening and working out in the garage.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Pervin and Linda Hackbart, three grandchildren, Angi (Chris) Vail, Jennifer Pervin, and Ryan Pervin, two great-grandchildren, Cole and Kaden Vail, and two sisters, Virginia Juen and Mary Havlik. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, a son Steven, an infant grandson, a brother Kenneth, three sisters, Therese Kuschel, Carol Haville, and Rita Dingeldein and a son-in-law Theodore Pervin.

A private family service will be held at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation services of La Crosse.
