Duane "Duey" J. Forer

Duane “Duey” John Forer, La Crescent, MN, age 84, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and great-great grandpa.  He married Mary Schlegel in Hokah in 1958.  He was a Jack of all trades.  If you needed something fixed, he was the guy to talk to.  He was a lifelong teacher and mentor to anyone interested in listening and learning.  He retired from G Heileman Brewery in 1999.  He and his wife spent many winters in Florida. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time outdoors.  His greatest pleasures came from spending time with his family, even if it was watching all the shenanigans and chaos.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; and 3 kids, Jackie (Dave) Stoda, Connie Nehls and Curt Forer.  He is also survived by 5 grandkids, Nate (Kait) Stoda, Duey Stoda, David Nehls, Lisa (Mike) Wilbur, John (Camille) Nehls; great-grandkids, extended family, nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by one brother, Roger (Carol) Forer.

Private graveside services will be held at a future date.
