Douglas Richard Rossow, 78, of Onalaska, WI passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2017 at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse, WI, after a long battle with cancer.
Doug was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Gustav “Dick” and Verna (Walters) Rossow on July 15, 1939. He went to high school in La Crosse and then earned his diploma while serving in the US Navy, traveling around the globe including Japan and Guam. He was an avid hunter and weekly golfer, and enjoyed woodworking – like his father. He enjoyed projects around the house and maintaining a meticulous yard.
In addition to his wife Bonnie (Farnam) Rossow of Onalaska, his mother Verna Rossow of La Crosse, WI; his daughter Connie Nau (Michael) of Appleton, WI; his daughter Peggy Vogel (Richard) of Onalaska, WI; grandchildren Hayley Anne Nau, Sydney Catherine Nau, Benjamin Douglas Vogel and Alexander Lee Vogel; as well as extended family and close friends. Doug was preceded in death by his brother Gerald (Jerry) Rossow and his father Gustav “Dick” Rossow, and his in-laws Perry and Idella (Kokkeby) Farnam. Memorial Services will be held at 11am on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services Onalaska Chapel; 907 Sand Lake Rd. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate. Burial will be in the Onalaska City Cemetery. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home on Monday from 10am until the time of services.
