Douglas "Doug" J. Brown

Douglas “Doug” Brown, age 57, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born on October 25, 1965, in La Crosse to Ralph and Gladys (Kaiser) Brown.

Doug served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. Throughout his career, he worked at La Crosse Footwear, Aramark, and was currently working at Wis Pak. He was also an avid donor at BioLife, and had been donating his plasma for several years to help others. Being the charismatic person that he was, Doug made many friendships at his places of work. He also worked part time as a cab driver in the La Crosse area and was always willing to help someone out. Doug was a family man, spending most of his free time with his kids and grandkids. His family and friends were the most important part of Doug’s life, and he will be greatly missed.

Doug is survived by his wife, Geralyn (Trzebiatowski) Brown; children, Cassandra Brown, Lindsey (David) Bahr, Apolonia (Jason) Speropulos, and Steven Brown; grandchildren, Julianna Ball, Elaina Brown, Lincoln and Rory Speropulos, and Grayson and Wyatt Bahr; siblings, Rick (Christine) Brown, Renda Klingbeil, Tom (Chris) Brown, Colleen Rask, Patty (John) Stilwell, and Mike (Jean) Brown; sister-in-law, Shelly Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Gladys; brothers, Steve and Dan; sister-in-law Debbie Brown; and brother-in-law, Dean Dilley.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse, WI 54601. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023 and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in La Crosse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
