Dorothy Mae Kaczorowski, 94 of La Crosse passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Benedictine Manor in La Crosse. She was born on June 24, 1923 in Winona, MN to Gerhardt and Mae (Kessler) McGill. Dorothy graduated from Winona High School in 1941. On June 3, 1942 she married Marion J. Kaczorowski and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1985.
While her husband served as in the United States Navy, Dorothy followed him and worked as a clerk typist in the civil service for the medical corps at the Navy Base in Sampson, N.Y. Following his discharge, they moved to La Crosse where they owned and operated the Chateau Supper Club in La Crosse.
Dorothy loved to play bridge, golf and swim. She also loved her animals and spent many cuddle hours with her cat, Max. Dorothy was especially proud of her Irish heritage. Her greatest joy however was to have the entire family over for the holidays and a picnic in the summer.
Dorothy is survived by a son, George (Judy) Kaczorowski of La Crescent, MN; three grandchildren, Luke Kaczorowski, Roy Reaves and Christina Terrance; 5 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; three nephews and a niece. In addition to her husband, Marion she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael; two daughters, Sharon Lunde and Mary Jo Martell and two brothers, Robert and William McGill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 3 rd at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston Street, La Crosse. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Entombment will follow in Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until leaving for the church at 10:15 A.M.
