Dorothy H. Gofus

Dorothy Helen (Ness) Gofus, 93, formerly of Onalaska, WI passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem. She was born in La Crosse, WI on February 5, 1927 to Walter and Frances (Hnilicka) Ness. Dorothy attended Aquinas High School. She married Stephen J. Gofus on August 13, 1946. They had two children, Michael (Linda) Gofus and Susan (Thomas) Blank. She worked at Modern Laundry, waitressed at Culps Supper Club and was a corsetiere at Sears. She was a wonderful homemaker, always making her guests a priority.

She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her five grandchildren Theron Blank, Nicole Blank, Alex (Bobbi) Gofus, Lora Gofus and Sara Brindley along with five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, two sisters Delores and Charlotte, a brother Walter and all her very best friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mulder Health Care Facility for their caring and compassion.

A private burial will be held in the Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse. Deacon Bob Zietlow will officiate.
