Donna Rae Lowrey

Donna Rae Lowrey, 91, of La Crosse WI. went to her eternal home in heaven to be with her savior Jesus Christ on 1/8/23 4:44pm Donna was born on 10/27/31 to Lloyd and Viola (Loeffler) Hanson of Stoddard WI where she later attended Hilltop Grade School and Westby High School. She was a member of St Matthews Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married to Evan Lowrey Jr. on June 7, 1952. Donna worked as a nurse’s aide, teachers aid and did respite care in her home for over 30 years. She spent her entire life helping others and often times putting others needs ahead of her own. Donna loved gardening and working at her home as well as down on the family farm. She was a seasoned traveler and has traveled all over the world with several trips to the Holy Land. She also loved spending time with her daughter Lynn and her husband Chip in Arizona during the winter months. Donna moved into Brookdale assisted living in 2019 to recover from an eye surgery and ended making her move into Brookdale permanent. She was very active in the community there as well. She loved her Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Badger teams.

Donna is survived by her son Loren Lowrey (Keri Ragner-Lowrey), daughter Lynn Lowrey (Chip Romig and Moo), Sister in law Mary Hanson, Lucille Lowrey along with many nieces and nephews from the Lowrey family in the Madison area. Grandchildren, Ryan Lowrey (Jessica), Brittany Lowrey, Nick Ragner (Zari), Alycia Larson Ragner (Zach Moran). Great Grandchildren, Evan and Ayvah Lowrey, Aiden, Cayson, and Emanuel Renstrom and Bentley Lowrey, Jade Moran and Isaiah Ragner. Nephews, Randy Hanson (Debbie Coblitz) children Kyle and Travis and Trent (Rhonda) Hanson, children Zach, Tanner and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband Evan (1979). Her parents Lloyd and Viola, and her brother Jerry Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran Church in Stoddard WI. Pastor Silas Schmitzer will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
