Donna Mae Leitner

Donna Mae Leitner passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the age of 91.  She was born in Arcadia, WI on May 5, 1933 to parents Henry and Lillian (Berger) Grotjahn.  Donna grew up in Arcadia, WI and later married Ervin G. Leitner of Lynxville, WI.

Donna was a crafted seamstress at The Garment Company, The Company Store, and ORC where she retired at the age of 70.   She enjoyed making sailor hats the most and shared the stories with her caregivers right up until her passing.  She was very proud of her work. Donna always welcomed her kids, grandkids and great grandkids and enjoyed many birthday celebrations and holidays with them. Latte, her beloved cat, has been her constant companion for the last six years.

Survived by her two sons, Gary and Allan Leitner, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other special friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lillian (Berger) Grotjahn, two brothers, Lavern (Joanne) and Wayne Grotjahn, husband, Ervin, twin sons Donald and Dennis, partner, Robert Collins, daughter in laws, Susan (Allan), Holly (Gary) Leitner, grand daughter, April Salek (Leitner), and nephew Ronald Grotjahn.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Rev. Martin Yeager will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
