Donna E. Guepfer

Donna Elizabeth Guepfer, 63, passed away at Gundersen Health System of La Crosse on July 14, 2023. She was born November 11, 1959 to Howard and Gloria (King) Van Deinse. Donna graduated from Winona State University and became a teacher like her father. She ended her career working at Tri-state Business Machines. She married David Guepfer and had a daughter, Makenna.

If she wasn’t playing games with her daughter, or enjoying time with her Oktoberfest family, you could find her at home knitting. She was a generous person and was always looking for any excuse to gift someone with a knitting project.

Donna is survived by her Husband, David Guepfer, her daughter, Makenna, and the family dog, Gus. She is further survived by her mother Gloria Van Deinse and siblings, Bill Van Deinse, Barbara Van Deinse, Mary (Michael)  Lindstrom, Paul Van Deinse, Tom (Betsy) Van Deinse, Jim Van Deinse, Jon (Eun Suk) Van Deinse, and Becky Van Deinse. Donna was preceded in death by father, Howard Van Deinse and her sister, Karen Van Deinse. Donna is also survived by her beloved Oktoberfest Royal Family, Doug and Kim Kratt, Sandra Cleary, Zoe De Boer, Mike and Pennie Jorgenson, Robert, Kimberly and Liam Caulkins and Mark Wemette.

The family would like to express gratitude to the first responders, and her team at Gundersen. Their kindness, and compassion made such a heartbreaking situation feel a little bit easier.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday July 26, 2023 in the south ballroom at the La Crosse Center from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. with a short program at 5:30. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to set up educational scholarships in Donna’s name.
