Donald "Fib" Trocinske

Donald “Fib” Trocinske, 82, of La Crescent, MN, was born August 24, 1940, in La Crosse, WI. He passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Donald was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139 and worked as a Superintendent for Ebner Construction for 30+ years and also worked for La Crosse Backhoe. After a career in construction, he was able to retire to full-time farming and enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Olga Trocinske; brother, Fr. LaVern Trocinski; and sister, Donna (Rolland) Wilson.

Donald is survived by his wife, Zoe Ann, and children, Paul (Sara) Trocinske of Woodbury, MN; Eric (Martha) Schmidt of Overland Park, KS; Heidi (Dennis) Danielson of Fort Myers, FL; and Aaron (Katie) Schmidt of Holmen, WI; brother, Robert (Sandi) Trocinske of La Crescent; and grandchildren, Isaac, Jacob, Grace, Zoe, Holly, and Harper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24 ^th , at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah, MN, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Rev. John L. Evans, II, will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dakota, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Special thanks to Mayo Hospice nurse Tuesday Hansen for all the encouraging words and special care she gave to Fib. We enjoyed all her visits.
