Donald Lee Schmitt

Donald Lee Schmitt passed away peacefully in his home in May of 2024. He was born August 10, 1954, in La Crosse to Herman and Laura (Kromke) Schmitt. Donald was employed with Chileda in La Crosse and was recognized for his dedication, working with the ones with cognitive and behavior challenges. He enjoyed playing music and listening to his collection of his 45’s and LP records.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Laura (Kromke) Schmitt; sister, Patricia “Patty” Schmitt of La Crosse; brother, Lairn Schmitt of Sparta and sister, Lily LaDue of La Crosse. He is survived by his brothers, Richard (Kathryn) Schmitt of La Crosse, Brian (Carla) Schmitt of Selma, TX and Kevin Schmitt of La Crosse; sisters, Marna Stanhope of La Crosse and Carole Rebhahn of Jacksonville, FL; along with many nieces and nephews.
