Donald G. Pedretti

Donald G. Pedretti age 74 of La Crosse, formerly of La Crescent, MN, passed away in his home on Friday, November 24th. Donald was born March 3, 1949, in Genoa, WI to Joffre and Lucille (Ender) Pedretti. He graduated from La Crescent High School in 1967. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp and served in the Viet Nam War from 1968-1970 and received a purple heart. After his return, he met and married Julie Martinson. Don and Julie had three sons: Anthony, Jeffrey, and Bryan. Years later, Don and Julie divorced, but have remained friends.

Donald was an OTR driver for Gateway and Fleming until he retired. He also owned many rental properties that he focused more upon his retirement. Donald enjoyed following the Brewers and Packers, and enjoyed playing the keyboard and piano, which he learned on his own without formal instruction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Alan Pedretti, and sister-in-law Linda Pedretti. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Carol (John) Alameda, Daniel (Colleen) Pedretti, Andrew Pedretti, Mark (Rosalie) Pedretti, Matt (Sharon) Pedretti, Margaret (Chuck) Holden, his children: Anthony (Tammy) Pedretti, Jeffrey (Fran) Pedretti, and Bryan (Amy) Pedretti, his grandchildren: Travis, Morgan, Alex, Gianna, Natalie, Aaron, Jonah, Amber, and Josh. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his dear friend Crystal Graham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Crucifixion Catholic Church in La Crescent, MN at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 29. Burial will take place at Toledo Cemetery in La Crescent, MN. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project or American Cancer Society.
