Dennis M. Candahl

Dennis M. Candahl, 74, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on August 31, 1943 in Owen, WI to Ernest and Edith (Colby) Candahl. Dennis served with the Army National Guard. He had worked for 27 years at G. Heileman Brewing, and then worked at Trane Company, Outers, as a lineman for Henkel Mc Coy, and then for five years at Optical Telecom. Dennis enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, Nascar, horses and cowboy hats. He was an avid Packers fan, and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by a daughter Deanna (fiancé’ Corey Pichler) Woyczik of Elk Mound, WI, three sons, Kevin of La Crosse, Cory (Cindy) of Ft. Worth, TX, and Mike (fiancé’ Nicole Shelmidine) of La Crosse, 13 grandchildren, Trey, Emma Jo, Carolyn, Courtney, Madison, Jasper, and Jocelyn Candahl, Katlynn and Cody Pichler, Brandon and Bryce Gilbertson, Justin Purdy, and Michael Wise, a sister Raine (Rick) Viner of La Crosse, and a brother Gary Candahl of Brownsville, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ernest “Skip” Candahl Jr., and his twin-brother Danny.
