Delores "Dorie" Mae Boehlke

Delores Boehlke, 93, of La Crosse, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Riverside Transitional Care in La Crosse.

Dorie was born in the Town of Curran, Wisconsin on May 20, 1929, to Fred and Lillian (Knutson) Hansen. She graduated from Central High School in 1947. Dorie married her husband Le Roy ‘Roy’ Boehlke at English Lutheran Church in La Crosse in September 1948.

In 1950, Dorie and Roy moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where all four of their children were born. In 1963, the family returned to La Crosse, to raise their family. Dorie was a homemaker and assisted Roy as a property manager until they retired in 1993.

Dorie is survived by her children, Debbie (Larry) Panek, Gary (Tami) Boehlke, Mark (Jane) Boehlke, and Scott (Shar) Boehlke; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and her sister Lorraine Petersen. She was proceeded in death by Roy, her husband of 71 years, her parents, and stepmother Barbara Hansen.

Dorie was a gentle and giving mother, wife, and friend to all in her life. She had 71 wonderful years with her husband Roy and dearly missed his company, especially playing cards and fishing together. In addition to playing cards and fishing, Dorie was a wonderful mother, loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She and Roy were active members of English Lutheran Church since moving back to La Crosse in 1963, and members of the local Eagles Club for over 50 years.

The family would like to thank Eagle Crest South, Gundersen Health System, Gundersen Hospice, and Riverside Transitional Care for their kind and compassionate care for Dorie over the past several years.

A memorial service and celebration of Dorie’s life will be held at 11am on Monday, June 27, 2022, at English Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Friends may call on the family from 10am until the time of services. To leave online condolences, please visit www.schumacher-kish.com
