Deborah A. Vanlin

Deborah "Debbie" VanLin, 66 of La Crescent, MN, passed away on Saturday May 6th, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System, St. Mary's campus, in Rochester with family by her side. She was born June 20, 1956, in La Crosse to Edward and Sally (Ortmeier) Johnson. Debbie attended La Crosse Central High School, graduating in 1974.

On August 26, 1978, she married Jack VanLin, and they would have celebrated 45 years this August. She loved traveling with family and friends. Her happy places consisted of warm sunny beaches, mountain backgrounds, ball fields, and watching her Grandkids activities.

Debbie is survived by her Husband Jack VanLin of La Crescent, MN; her daughter Dana (Robert) Balsavich of Roberts, WI, grandchildren Paisley and Preston Balsavich, brother David (Kelley) Johnson of OH, Dale (Barb) Johnson of La Crosse, Doug (Robin) Johnson of Holmen; Sister Dawn (Mark) Christensen of Winona; Father-in-law Frank Van Lin; and many other family members and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and Father; Sister Doreen Johnson; Nephew Christopher Johnson; and Mother-in-law Helen Van Lin.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Schumacher Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 111 S. Oak St. La Crescent, MN, 55947 on Friday, May 12th from 4 to 7 p.m.
