Deborah S.K. Bushek, 70 - A Life Full of Love and Adventure

Deborah, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 15, 2024. Born August 18, 1953 in La Crosse, WI, she lived a life full of love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Deborah was an adventurer and a true “Free Spirit.” Her greatest joy was riding her bike. If asked why she liked to ride her bike, Deb always replied, “Because I feel free.” Deborah loved hiking, especially in Arches, Canyonland and Grand Canyon national parks. Deborah cherished the family's annual tradition of staying at a cabin on the North Shore, where she hiked and biked with the family in the Lake Superior forests and along its waterfalls. Deborah loved the forest and all its wildlife. Her love for the outdoors was contagious, and she passed this love on to her family. Deborah had a lifelong love of animals and pets, especially dogs (Willow).

Above all, Deborah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was a source of pride and happiness. She showered her children and grandchildren with unconditional love and support - was always there with a listening ear, a warm hug, and a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

Deborah leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a passion for life. She will be deeply missed by her husband George, children, Jared (Rachael) and Lindsey (Luther), her grandchildren, Amelia, Parker, Callen and Emmitt, and a wide circle of friends.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, donations may be made in her memory to Chasingdaylight.org (an animal shelter). Contributions may also be made to the Deb Bushek Memorial Fund established at the YMCA in her honor, Donate Now | Deb Bushek Memorial Fund by La Crosse Area Family YMCA .

A celebration of her life will be held on July 13, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Cedar Creek Banquet Center in Onalaska.
