Dawn Ranae Nephew (58) passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, at Mayo Health System in La Crosse surrounded by family.

Dawn was born on January 21st, 1966, to John Johnson & Ranae (Glenn) Hartung in La Crosse, WI. After graduating from Bangor High School in 1984, she went on to study CNA at WTC.

After graduation, she landed her first job as a CNA for Hillview, kicking off her career of 10 years in the medical field.

In, 1987, Dawn met Harry, and they were married in 1988, going on to have 2 kids and adopting 1 in 1994.

Dawn continued her education and proceeded her career in Real Estate and then in Social Work. Dawn did respite care and foster care for 20 years for La Crosse County. This is what led her to go back to school to get her degree in Social Work.

Dawn spent her time decorating for every holiday & occasion, obsessing over her children & grandchildren, watching her Green Bay Packers, and traveling with the love of her life Harry.

Dawn was preceded in death by her mother Ranae, sister Johnell, Father John, Father-in-law Donald, Mother-in-law Ella, and paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by the love of her life Harry. Children Jamie (Joe) Waughtal, Ashlyn (Jesse) Waughtal, Kyle (Beth) Nephew, Brother Jeremy (Leslie) Johnson, Grandkids Cooper Subjek, Noah, Reece, Max Waughtal, Ella Nephew & coming soon Baby Boy Nephew, and many cousins, nieces and nephews she all adored dearly.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Melrose Rod & Gun Club on October 26th, 2024, starting at 1:00p.m. Wear your Green Bay Packer gear as Dawn would have loved this.
