David R. Tepp

David R. Tepp, 82, of La Crosse, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Osseo, Wis.

David was born in Stevens Point, Wis., on June 6, 1935, to Joseph P. and Sandra (Selenski) Tepp. After graduating from Stevens Point High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years of active duty from 1958-1960. He then went on to receive his degree in Economics from UW-Madison following his service. On October 30, 1965, he married Marian Becker at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah, Minn.

David worked for a brief time on the east coast before moving to La Crosse where he worked for the Social Security Administration, retiring after a 36-year career. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and skiing with his sons and keeping up with his grandchildren’s activities. He was also an avid Badger fan.

David is survived by his wife, Marian; his two sons and their families, Paul Tepp and his children, Luke and Parker, and Jason (Dafney) Tepp and their children, Ella and Avery, all of Onalaska; brother-in-law, John Boyne (Penny Trudell); nieces and nephews, Jody (Steve) Hanson, Jim (Diane) Tepp, Shawn Boyne and Daniel (Karen) Boyne and their families along with friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Tepp and his wife, DeLor; and a sister, Mary Jo Boyne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 21 ^st , at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in La Crosse. Rev. Peter Raj will officiate. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
