David S. Schumacher

David S. Schumacher, 58, of La Crosse passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on December 15, 1959 in La Crosse to Edwin and Valeria (Volk) Schumacher. Dave served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1977-1979 as corporal. He was an excellent marksman while serving in the military. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting, pool, darts and delivering meals on wheels until Myotonic Dystrophy prevented him from doing the things he enjoyed most. He retired from Trane Co. after 25 years of employment. He was a huge sports fan of the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. David was generous and kind to anyone he met.

He is survived by his wife Patty, two sons Greg Schumacher of La Crosse and Chris Schumacher of West Salem, one sister Paula Krause (Chris Kettner) of Mazomanie, WI, three brothers Peter (Maureen) Schumacher of La Crosse, Steve (Carol) Schumacher of Fond du Lac, WI and Ron (Carmen) Schumacher of Menomonie, WI, two sisters-in-law Mary Schumacher and Amy Mlsna both of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Kristy Schumacher, two brothers Jeff Schumacher and Jim Schumacher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Pastor Park Hunter will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 PM and again on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
