David Robert Rye

David Robert Rye, 68, of Onalaska, WI, passed away on December 11, 2023 at his home. Born on February 3, 1955, in La Crosse, WI, David was a talented woodworker who dedicated his life to the craft.

David's woodworking skills were unparalleled, and he spent his career honing his craft and creating beautiful pieces. His attention to detail and passion for woodworking shone through in every project he undertook.

Beyond his career, David had a loving and supportive family. He is survived by his sister, Marye Harris (Al), his niece, Christina (Daniel), as well as his nephews, Greg Berven (Jodi) and Ben Berven. He also leaves behind a great niece and nephews. David also had a good friend, Theresa, who provided him with companionship towards the end of his life.

David was preceded in death by his longtime soulmate, Ellen Kritchman, his parents, Robert Rye and Nola (Kriewald) Rye, his son, Matthew Kritchman-Rye, and his sister, Donna Berven (Tom). Dave had an inner circle of friends from childhood, they referred to him as "Sound man".
