Darlene V. Dummer, 79 of West Salem, WI., died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. She was born to Verna and Erwin Ekhoff on November 18, 1942, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. On June 17, 1967, she married Donald R. Dummer.
Dar's love of Jesus was apparent in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, games, and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her children; Sara (Mike) Mehling, Mark (Kim) Dummer, Eric (Heidi) Dummer, Gretchen (Rick) Husby, Michael (Tara) Dummer, Philip (Beth) Dummer, Laura (Chuck) Kasinger; along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don, brother John Ekhoff, brothers-in-law Arlyn Hein, Frank Nielsen, and nephew Tim Ekhoff.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday April 25, 2022 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in West Salem, WI. Private family burial will follow. Friends may call on the family at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
The family would like to invite you to a less formal celebration of Darlene’s life to be held from 5 until 8 P.M. on Sunday evening the 24 th at the Stoney Creek Hotel; 3060 S. Kinney Coulee Rd., Onalaska, WI. 54650. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Darlene's honor.
