Dale W. Anderson, age 61, of La Crosse, died at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, February 22, 2018 after a long and valiant fight with several health complications
Dale was always quick with a joke and brought a smile to the face of everyone he met. He was a member of Christ is Lord Free Lutheran Church, and is now praising his Lord in eternity. He enjoyed many activities through the church, including the acting youth group Faith on Fire, chaperoning trips to the FLY conventions in Colorado, and chauffeuring kids to and from Encounter. He also ran the sound booth for the church on Sundays and for many of the other regular events such as the women’s group.
Dale enjoyed all types of music, from Deep Purple to Keith Green to Beethoven. He spent a lot of time in the online community, including the game Virtual Magic Kingdom, a Disney theme park game where he connected with people around the world, fostering deep and lasting friendships. Dale loved all things Disney, and frequented the theme parks in both Florida and California where he was able to meet his online friends in person.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Fortney) Anderson; his daughter, Gwen Anderson (Greg DeBoer); his son, Chris Anderson (Chantell (Phillips) Anderson); his father, Ed Anderson; his grandson, Gabriel Phetteplace-Faas; his brothers, Dave (Kim) and Daryl (Krista) Anderson; his sisters, Donna (Anderson) Marquardt (Dean) and Dianne (Anderson) Lubinsky (John); his niece, Deanna (Marquardt) Droog; and nephews, Gino, Matt, and Dustin Peterson, Jon and Jeremy Shepard, Nick and Sam Lubinsky, and Devin Marquardt; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Janis (Teichler) Anderson. Dale was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
Memorial services will be held at 7pm on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Christ is Lord Free Lutheran Church, La Crosse. Pastor Jonathan Unverzagt will officiate. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 5pm until the time of services.
