Dale E. "Sonny" Vodde

Dale E. “Sonny” Vodde, 81, of La Crosse , passed away Tuesday May 18, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in La Crosse on March 31 ^st , 1940 to Edward and Beatrice (Lovin) Vodde.

Dale graduated from Central High School in 1958 and joined the United States Air Force, working as a mechanic on the airplanes. Dale married his high school sweetheart Ruth (Willison) Vodde on March 14, 1962, who preceded him in death on August 31, 2008. He is also preceded in death by his parents.

Dale loved the outdoors, enjoying time with his family and taking road trips with his wife and grandchildren, and spent free time making clocks.

Dale is survived by three children, Elaine (Steve) Pintz, Todd Vodde and Barbara Vodde; seven grandchildren, Heather Vodde, Melissa Vodde, Amber Pintz, Kristina Pintz, Kyle Pintz, Brittney Vodde, Crystal Vodde; six great-grandchildren, Wesley, Dakota, Avah, Zoey, Dylan and Jade; and one great-great granddaughter Jocelynn along with his brother and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel; 200 West Ave. So. Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Burial with military honors will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of services. Celebration of Life will be held at Moxie’s; 1835 Rose St. La Crosse, at 2:00 p.m.
