Dale H. Mikshowsky, 79 of St. Joseph Ridge passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 surrounded by family at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility. He was born January 22, 1938 in La Crosse to Joseph and Orena (Jungen) Mikshowsky and graduated from Aquinas High School. Dale served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for six years.
On August 12, 1959, he married Doris Gerke at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse. Dale worked on the family farm on St. Joseph Ridge while also working for Allis Chalmers and the La Crosse Cooler Company. He later worked for many years for the Town of Greenfield. Dale and Doris were members of the Relaxin Campers, Luxembourg Club and Concordia Ballroom. He also was a member of Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52. Following retirement, Dale and Doris would live and volunteer during the winter months for the US Fish and Wildlife in Brazoria County Texas.
In addition to his wife Doris, Dale is survived by four children; Lori Mikshowsky and Lynn (Kirk) Donskey both of La Crosse, Lucy Mikroberts of St. Paul, MN and Bryan Mikshowsky of St. Joseph Ridge; seven grandchildren, Claire Donskey, Taylor Donskey, Madelyn Mikshowsky, Kenneth Mikshowsky, Alyxandra Mikshowsky, Daurius Mikroberts and Jarell Mikroberts; three sisters, Darlene (Fred) Zitzner of Viroqua, Diane Strupp and Jane (Russ) O’Neil both of La Crosse; a brother, Douglas Mikshowsky of St. Joseph Ridge and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Cathy Mikshowsky and a brother-in-law, Jim Strupp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 16 th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Ridge with Rev. Monsignor Robert Hundt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of Mass. Memorials are preferred to the Concordia Ballroom.
This funeral Mass does not substitute for the Sunday Mass obligation.
