Crystal "Cris" M. Kunze

May 14, 1949 — September 22, 2022

Crystal (Cris) M. (Greeno, Wilder) Kunze took her last breath on September 22, 2022 and has joined her departed family members.  She was born to Reuben and Roberta (Gonyier) Greeno on May 14, 1949.  Cris lived most of her life in Onalaska, WI.  She graduated from Onalaska High School in 1967.

Cris married Gordon (Gordy) Wilder on July 20, 1968.  They had two children.  Gordy passed away on January 16, 1979.  She wed Paul Kunze on April 24, 1982.  Paul passed away on November 28, 1999.

Cris worked for the State of Wisconsin in the Unemployment Compensation Division and at UW-La Crosse in the Financial Aid Office.  After retiring from the state, she worked for a time as a Substitute Para-Professional for the Onalaska School District with the Special Education Department.  Cris made many great friendships through her work and still had contact with former student employees from her job as Student Employment Supervisor for the student workers in the Financial Aid Office.  She truly enjoyed working with students at UW-L and Onalaska Schools.

Her greatest joy was being with her family.  She spent time with them going to concerts at Leo & Leona’s, The Pump House, Oak Center General Store, Moon Tunes, Holmen Park and other venues.  Cris spent hours babysitting for a great-granddaughter from birth to a couple of years ago.  They read many books, played games, blew bubbles, watched movies & cartoons, etc.  She often said watching Audri kept her from “growing old!”

Cris is survived by her daughter, Dana (friend, Dan Hrin) Wilder, her son, Dwayne (Angie) Wilder; grandchildren, Gary Cook III, Jordan (friend, Courtney Slosser) Cook, Jennifer (Zach) Albrecht, Christian Wilder and Tessa (friend, Erika Facchinello) Wilder; great-grandchildren, Audri Cook, Anna Nelson and Peter Albrecht; her sister, Irene Greeno and her brother, John Greeno; her step-sister, Sandy (Lyle) Saumweber; her step-brothers, Terry (Linda) Vinson and Joe (Candi) Vinson; step sisters-in-law, Mary, Pat and Mary Vinson, step-nieces and nephews and their children; her sisters-in-law, Delores Rousar and Nancy Walejewski; her brothers-in-law, Michael Nowicki and Chuck Stuart. nieces and nephews-in-law and their children; aunts and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands, mother, father, step-mother (Ada Greeno), step-brothers, Floyd, Howard, David, Butch and Clifford Vinson; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sario, Rosemary Nowicki, and Joan Stuart; brothers-in-law, Wyman Sario, Jerry Rousar, John Walejewski.
