Colleen P. Roberts

Colleen P. “Coke” (Shaw) Roberts, 83, of La Crescent, passed through the Garden Gate to meet Virgil on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. She was born on January 13, 1935 in Winona, MN to Robert and Violet (Stinson) Shaw. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1953. Colleen married Virgil D. Roberts in 1954 in Anchorage, AK during the Korean War, and moved back to La Crosse in 1955. In 1959 they purchased a farm in Dakota, MN, their home for many years of happy memories. Virgil passed in 2003 and life was never the same. In 2015 the diagnosis of dementia meant the farm was sold and Colleen moved to the Clara House in La Crescent.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Jim Herlitzka) Mercer of La Crosse, Ann (Mark) Bashaw of La Crosse, Sally Bagniefski of Fairbanks, AK, and Christine (Gerry) Norton of Dakota, MN, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and in-laws Don (Mae) Roberts and Naomi Roberts of La Crosse and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, a son-in-law Marc Bagniefski, her siblings, Tom (Helen) Shaw, Kathy (John) Neuman, and Theresa Greeno, her parents, her father and mother-in-law, James (Agnes) Roberts, and in-laws, James (Delores) Roberts and Richard Roberts.
