Colleen A. Kanieski

Colleen A. Kanieski, 70 of Onalaska, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born November 18, 1950 in Portage, WI to Irvin and Lillian (Ashley) Kohler and graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1968. On November 3, 1973 she married Edward Kanieski in Pardeeville.

Colleen graduated as a Registered Nurse from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Madison in 1973. She later received her BSN from Viterbo University in 1987. She worked for many years as the Director of Nurses for the Caledonia Health Care Center and retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tomah in 2001.

Colleen had a love for cats. She and Ed enjoyed breeding Maine Coon cats and showing them at various shows in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.

In addition to her husband Edward, she is survived by two sons; Clinton Kanieski of Onalaska and Edward I. “Clay” (Christal) Kanieski of St. Joseph Ridge; three granddaughters, Faith, Hope and Amber Kanieski; two sisters, Jean (Butch) Porter of Wyocena, WI and Linette Helgerson of DeForest, WI; along with her very close friend, Susan Schlaeger of Tustin, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
