Cindy K. Salis

Cindy K. Salis, 61 La Crosse (Northsider), passed away at her home on Sunday, March 20, 2022, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 8, 1960, in La Crosse to Carol (Halaska) VanMinsel and graduated from Aquinas High School.

Cindy had worked as a personal assistant at Cindy Gerke and Associates Realtors for many years. She also loved being a dog tender. Cindy loved being with people, especially her family. Her squeaky, high-pitched laugh was one of a kind and enjoyed by all. She was a very caring person, who always made sure she donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital whenever she could.

Cindy is survived by her mother Carol VanMinsel of La Crosse, five children; Andrea (Erik Bartz) Cieminski, Timothy “T.J.” Salis, Sarah Salis (Joe Roberts), Heidi Salis (Robert McDowell), and Amanda Lewis (Charlie Corcoran) all of la Crosse; 18 grandchildren, Hillary (Cat) Reyes, Christian Cieminski, Olivia Bartz, Arianna Bartz, Austin Clark, Isaac Salis, Timothy Salis, Jr., Ciara Salis, Madison Salis, Avianna Salis, Isabella Salis, Alex Roberts, Amaya Roberts, Jameson McDowell, Kaiden McDowell, Javier Mota, Emma Corcoran and Levi Woods; a great-grandson, Jaxin “Jaxpot” Reyes; a sister, Gerry (Frank) Dikeman of Cashton, a brother, John “Jump” (Sandy) Lewis of Hudson, WI; two former sons-in-law, John Schwarz and Chris Cieminski; five nieces and nephews, and last but not least, her canine daughter and boss, Lilly.

Cindy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hidegard and John Halaska and a nephew, Randy Dikeman.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse. A Celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
