Christine Marie Powlek

Christine Marie Powlek, 56 of Onalaska, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. She was born May 12, 1967, in La Crosse to Gerald “Jerry” and Beatrice (Hutschenreuter) Foellmi. Christine attended St. James Grade School and graduated from Logan High School.

On September 11, 1995, she married Lanny Powlek in La Crosse. Christine held many positions for various local companies including Briteway Signs, Kwik Trip, Olsten Temporary Services and Lovejoy Day Care on La Crosse’s north side.

She enjoyed collecting hot wheels and watching auto racing. Christine was an animal lover, especially cats, was an exceptional artist, enjoyed drawing and flowers.

Christine is survived by her husband, Lanny of Onalaska; her mother, Beatrice Foellmi of French Island; sisters, Deborah Benson of West Salem, Rebecca Murphy of La Crosse and Theresa (Patrick) Wenzel of La Crosse; brothers, Terry (Joann) Foellmi of West Salem and Todd Foellmi of French Island; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Foellmi, Amelia Osornio, Craig (Janelle) Benson and Tonya Benson; great-niece and nephew, Ean and Kaylee Benson, along with several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Foellmi; an infant sister; brother-in-law, Pat Murphy; great-niece, Lia Benson and her grandparents.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Friday, April 19th at the Graden Mausoleum Chapel in Oak Grove Cemetery, 1407 La Crosse Street in La Crosse. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M.
