Charles William Sichler

Charles William Sichler a dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 19th, 2024, at the age of 90.

Born to Clarance & Lydia (Bramer) Sichler on April 26th, 1934, Charles was the 2nd of 4 children. Charles graduated from Onalaska High School in 1953 and then went into the Navy. He graduated from Recruitment Training on July 14th, 1956.

In early 1956, he met the love of his life Alvina whom he married on July 12th, 1958. Together, they raised 3 children Deborah, Timothy and Lori.

Charles’ faith was the foundation upon which he built his life. He was known for his kindness and devotion to his church, family and neighbors.

Charles had a very very special love and devotion to his wife Alvina. People who knew Charles would say he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around.

Charles is survived by his children, Deb (David) Arentz of Rockland, WI, Tim (Tammy) Sichler of Dakota, MN, and Lori Kohlwey of La Crosse, WI; his sister Gwendolyn (Patrick) Appleton of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren, Steve (Thalia) La Force of Viroqua, WI, Chris (Melinda) La Force of Sparta, WI, Xavier Kohlwey of Laurens, SC, Michaela (Noah) Gansen of Onalaska, WI, Malachi Kohlwey (Nicole Hansen) of Arlington Heights, IL, Nick Kohlwey of Milwaukee, WI, and Bridget (Cole) Flannery of Hokah, MN; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild with another on the way; and his dog Dewey.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Alvina (Hill) Sichler, his parents Clarence & Lydia (Bramer) Sichler, as well as his sisters Barbara Sichler and Irene Sichler.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 28th, 2024, at Riverside United Methodist Church of Dakota, MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be provided by the family afterwards. The burial will take place same day at 1:00 p.m. at Dakota Cemetery.
