Charles I. Atkinson

November 8, 1943 — January 5, 2019

Charles I. Atkinson, was born to Arden and Ruth (Campion) Atkinson in Portage, Wisconsin. He was a loving husband to Maria T. Atkinson for over 45 years and a caring father to his three children; Joe, Terri and Johanna. He was also a gracious grandfather to 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Duty, decency, honor, reliability and respect are qualities that Charles embodied during his time on earth. It was not uncommon for him to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

Charles served his country in the United States Navy from September 1961 until October 1964 while stationed in Puerto Rico.

Charles was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very proud of the fact he never, in all his years, missed a season of deer hunting and loved to share stories to anyone who wanted to listen.

Charles was also a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. You could always find him tuned into a game and as we all watched, cheered and yelled on game day, Charles would be there shouting, “Go Pack Go!!!
