Charlene E. Hansen

Charlene E. Hansen, 90 of La Crosse passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born July 24, 1927 in La Crosse to Oscar J. and Elsie M. (Haesler) Olson. She married Bernard “Bernie” Hansen on February 6, 1945 in La Crosse and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2011.

Charlene was a member of the Women of the Moose #1526 in La Crosse, the Eagles Auxiliary No. 1254 and a past member of REAC. She had worked at the La Crosse Rubber Mills and La Crosse Garment Factory. Charlene enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling and reading. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in La Crosse.

Survivors include her daughter; Judith (Delbert) Embke of Merrillan, WI; two granddaughters, Catherine Morgan of Merrillan, WI and Cheryl (David) Rozmenoski of La Crosse; one grandson, Roger Embke of West Salem; six great-grandchildren; three step-brothers, a step-sister and numerous step-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step-father and three step-brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 8th at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston Street, La Crosse with Rev. Brian D. Konopa officiating. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7 P.M. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse where a Women of the Moose Service of Tribute will be held at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will also be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass.

Charlene’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dee Lyman, Gary and Kim Thurk, Pat and Kathy Houlihan for all they did for Mom.
