Carroll Dean Vizecky

Carroll Dean Vizecky was a loving husband and caring father of three bright and beautiful children with whom he shared his life. Carroll was a devout Christian man who supported the church with his hands, heart, and ingenuity. Every person Carroll reached out to, appreciated his listening ear, his kind and generous heart, along with his “Trust in the Lord - Spirit.”

Carroll Dean was born on January 8th, 1953, in Hendricks, MN to Gordon and Harriet (Lamburtus) Vizecky. He always bragged that he got his mom & dad all to himself almost 5 years before the rest of the family came along! Carroll was fortunate to grow up on the family farm south of Hendricks. He not only worked hard for his folks but helped many of their neighbors that needed assistance stating, “Back then if anyone needed help, they knew they could count on Carroll Vizecky.”

Carroll graduated from Hendricks High School in 1971, where he had many friends, that he continued to stay in touch with over the years. In 1973, Carroll married Glenda Kurth, who gave him the pride and joy of his life; their three children: Gordon, Michelle, and Mark. Carroll and Glenda divorced in 1995. In 1998, Carroll moved to Wisconsin where he met Mary Konz. Together, working side-by-side, they rebuilt Carroll’s life, marrying in 2002. Carroll enjoyed wood working, home improvement projects, cooking, and gardening together.

He loved spending time with his three children and his six grandchildren. Carroll was a devoted husband who knew it took three to make the marriage work (with Jesus in the middle). Carroll’s career was spent securing significant infrastructure systems in smaller communities throughout Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Carroll left each community in such good shape; they said the incoming replacement had a hard time finding something that needed work!

Carroll passed away suddenly on Monday November 29, 2021 and has been missed deeply by all who knew him. Carroll’s Celebration of Life will be at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse, WI on Saturday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Rimmert. All are welcome to join.

Carroll is survived by his wife Mary Vizecky. His three children Gordon (Steph) Vizecky, Michelle Kirkland and Mark Vizecky. His siblings Julie (Dan) Johnson, Robin (Dale) Anderson, Aaron (CV Carin) Vizecky and Aleta (John) Starner. His grandchildren Zach Vizecky, Gage Vizecky, Autumn Kirkland, Evan Kirkland, Andy Vizecky and Reid Vizecky. As well as his nieces and nephews Andrew (Amber) Johnson, Danni (Greg) Lyngen, Renae (Tyler) Jenniges, Michael (Melissa) Nelson, April (Terry) Patrick, Joshua Vizecky, Jonathan Vizecky, Mathew Vizecky, Jennie Vizecky, Elizabeth Starner, Dillan Starner and Marie (Taylor) Olsen.

Carroll is proceeded in death by his grandparents; Irvan and Elsie Vizecky and Hattie and Henry Lambertus. Carroll’s parents; Harriet and Gordon Vizecky, his younger brother Luther Vizecky and beloved son in law, David Kirkland.
