Carolyn "Tuddy" Thesing

Carolyn “Tuddy” I. Thesing, 80, of La Crescent, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

She was born in La Crosse on August 21, 1937, to George and Thelma (Jensen) Buschman. She later graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1955. On May 11, 1957, Tuddy married Robert “Bob” F. Thesing in Dakota, Mn.

Tuddy and Bob owned and operated Thesing Grocery in La Crescent for several years. Tuddy then worked for Quillin’s for 30 years before retiring.

Bob and Tuddy enjoyed going to the Legion playing bingo with friends, playing euchre and attending the meat raffle with Bob Hafner and Sue Horihan along with spending time with friends Sandy Nowlan and Bob Ambuehl. She enjoyed their trips to the casino in Black River Falls with Jake, their constant companion.

Tuddy’s greatest joy in life was her family and she took great pride and joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by Bob, her loving husband of almost 61 years; her children, Gail (Jerry) Delaney of Maple Grove, Mn., Dale (Connie) Thesing, Wanda (Joe) Nickelotti, Michael (Tamala) Thesing, Steve (Laura) Thesing, Sue (Dave) Wiemerslage all of La Crescent; eleven grandchildren, Nicholas (Krystal) Delaney, Alison (Dan) Nesler, Abby (Jason) Frey, Meghan (Andy) Von Arx, Ashley (Rob) Johnson, Jeremy (Amanda) Nickelotti, Nicki (Matt) McCallson, Christopher (Jennifer) Thesing, Jonathan (Amanda) Thesing, Josh Thesing and Jordan Thesing; seventeen great-grandchildren with another due soon. Further survived by brother, Ronald (Helen) Buschman of French Island; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Buschman of Babbit, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and faithful companion, Jake. Tuddy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Buschman.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Molling, Katie, Ivy, Heidi and Karen at the Mayo Clinic in Onalaska and the staff on 7 ^th floor and the Dialysis Dept. at Mayo Clinic Health System for their wonderful care.

As was Tuddy’s wish, there will be no services. Her cremated remains will be buried in Crucifixion Cemetery in La Crescent at a later date.
