Carolyn Lee Grimm, 75, left this world on October 24, 2017. She was born on January 11, 1942 in La Crosse, graduated from Aquinas high school, and Viterbo College with a music degree. After college Carolyn spent 5 years with the FSPA at St. Rose Convent teaching music.
Carolyn worked as a seamstress in the bridal industry and went on to co-own the Wedding Tree with her late husband Lester Grimm. Later years, Carolyn enjoyed her work at St. Rose Convent as a receptionist, in the archives, and then as executive secretary to the President.
Carolyn loved to sing and had the most beautiful soprano voice you’ve ever heard. She loved animals, especially her horse, Retador, and her many cats. She spent several years volunteering at the Coulee Region Humane Society. Carolyn enjoyed watching the trees blow in the wind and loved taking beaucoup pictures.
Carolyn is survived by her partner, Claudia Klyve, and cousins, Kathy (Steve) Mashak and Mary (Jeff) Henthorne.
She was preceded in death by her Grandmother, Madeline Woods, parents, Clifford and Mary Etta (Woods) Cox, husband, Lester Grimm, aunt and uncle, Jody (Woods) and John Howe, and cousin, Steve Howe.
Carolyn’s family would like to thank the Visiting Angels in Madison, especially Kathy Konicek and Sarah Brummel, and the Colonial Club in Sun Prairie for helping her through her journey with Alzheimer’s. Special thanks go out to Claudia’s siblings, Thia (for sharing her granddaughter Tamia), Charmian, Camilla, Candace, and Corwin for adopting Carolyn into the family.
Memorials may be given to Coulee Region Humane Society in Onalaska, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
