Carole E. Cox

Carole E. Cox, 87 of Stoddard, WI, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born June 3, 1935, in La Crosse to Samuel and Antoinette (Bowden) Isbell. Carole attended La Crosse schools and graduated in 1953 from De Soto High School.

On August 26, 1953, she married William Glen Cox, and he preceded her in death in 1990. Carole had worked in her early years in the lab at Heileman's, then as a waitress at Rocky’s Supper Club in Stoddard for 35 years and retired from River Bank in Stoddard. She was a well-rounded person who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and loved spending time with her many friends and large family. She also volunteered many hours for the Stoddard Fire Department and Lioness Club.

Carole is survived by four daughters; Glenda Cox (Art Hager) of Milwaukee, WI, Rita (David) Stalsberg of Stoddard, Cheryl (John) Gross and Diane Fagan (Paul Luedke) both of La Crosse; ten grandchildren, Billy (Angie) Gross, Heather Gross, Jennifer Scheer, Jackie (Ben) Abbott, Julia Stalsberg, Seth Fagan, Sarah Emerson, Collin Hager, Jeremiah Kansier and Hunter Kansier; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert (Lorraine) Isbell of Florida. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan Fanello, a brother-in-law, Eugene Fanello; a son-in-law, Dave Fagan and a grandson-in-law, Caleb Scheer.

Per Carole’s request there will be no formal services. She will be buried next to her beloved husband, William in the Stoddard Cemetery.
