Carol J Netwall

Carol J. Netwall, age 88 of La Crosse, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Hillview Health Care. She was born March 21, 1936, in La Crosse to the late Howard and Eleanor Young. She graduated from Aquinas High School, class of 1954. She worked as a cashier at Super Value and Kmart Foods.

In 1973 she married Marcellus “Lumpy” Netwall. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She remembered everyone she had ever met. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and crocheted for others. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and occasional trips to the Casino.

She is survived by three children: Rita Schams, Vicki (Kevin) McCarthy, and Michael (Pamela) Kopski; stepdaughter: Lynn Netwall; A beloved sister Kathy (Doug) Cox; grandchildren: Scott, Jennifer, Nikole, and Trina; and great-grandchildren: Devyn, Gwyneth, Shayna, Paige, Cora, Mairéad, Josiah, and Maeve. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lumpy Netwall; daughter-in-law Nancy Kopski; granddaughter Eleanor; and grandson Matthew. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law; Jim Young (Joanne), and Bob Young (Judy).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 17th at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston Street, La Crosse. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Children’s Cancer Research Fund, 1650 West 82nd St, Ste 400, Minneapolis, MN 55431.
