Carol J. Marx

Carol J. Marx, 82, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Brookdale Senior Living in La Crosse. She was born on September 9, 1940 in La Crosse to John and Mary (Strasser) Le Jeune. Carol graduated from La Crosse Central High School and married Gerald “Jerry” Marx on April 12, 1961 in St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She worked at Shopko for over 34 years. Carol enjoyed playing cards, casinos, baking cookies, going on rides throughout the countryside and eating out. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and with her special second family; Dale Beier and his daughters, Jodi, Jane, Julie and Jill and their families, and with her lifelong friends.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Jackie) Marx, Nancy (Bill) Berra, Brian Marx, and Julie (Rudy) Larson, her grandkids, Brandon (Lisa Allaway) Berra, Cody (Michaela) Berra, Tanya (Tom) Johnson, Payton Larson, and Alex Marx, great-grandkids, Luca Berra and Harper Johnson, two sisters, Betty Meinking and Marie (Donnie) Servais, and a brother Gerald “Buck” (Linda) Le Jeune. In addition to her husband Jerry she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and several other family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Committal services will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
