Carol J. (Kuehn) Kolhoven, 90, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in home hospice in Shorewood, WI, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born in La Crosse, WI, on September 12, 1934, to Francis S. Kuehn and Anna K. (Laumb) Kuehn. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Kolhoven; sister, Antoinette B. (Kuehn) Harriman; son, Donald J. Finn; and grandson, Michael A. Trumble.
Carol is survived by her children, John (Dreama) Finn, Thomas (Maria) Finn, Francis (Jackie) Finn, Genevieve Manzo, Carl Manzo, and Carol (Robert) Gosse; her sister, Margaret A. (Kuehn) Kremer; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carol graduated from Aquinas High School in 1952. She began working at the La Crosse Public Library at a young age, where she was quickly promoted to running the La Crosse South Library. Her favorite job was raising seven children. She retired from the Medical College of Wisconsin at the age of 77 and was well known as the "Information Lady." She received many awards for being an excellent employee.
Carol was fiercely independent and lived on her own until the age of 90.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, 530 Main Street, La Crosse, WI. Monsignor Richard Gilles will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins at the Cathedral.
The burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse.
