Bruce Allen Hoeth, 76, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018, with his family by his side.
Bruce was born in La Crosse on September 21, 1941, to Arville and Lucille (Roesler) Hoeth. He was a 1959 graduate of Central High School and then joined the Army National Guard and served with the 32 nd Red Arrow Engineering Division in Onalaska. On February 6, 1961, Bruce married Linda Murray and moved to Racine, Wis. They returned to the La Crosse area in 1972. During his work career, Bruce worked as a machinist, tool and die maker, mechanic and baker. He worked for Quillin’s Bakery for 25 years and also Metallics, Inc.
Bruce was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1920, American Legion Post 52, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1254. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing euchre and sheepshead, dancing, calling bingo, doing fish fry’s and being a Scout Master for over 15 years. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Richard (Rhonda), Terri Hoeth-Sisson, John (Cheryl), Patrick (Keith Lupien), Kristie, and David; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren with two more on the way; a sister, Mary (Gary) Jerome; brothers, David (Joann) and Michael (Linda); and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arville and Lucille; grandparents, Frank and Martha Roesler and Louie and Minnie Hoeth; uncles, Daniel, Wilbur and Douglas Roesler; aunt, Phillis Bendel; aunt and uncle, Anita and Eldor Miller; and one great nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 19 th , at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 South 13 th St., La Crosse. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Family and friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at the church.
