Brenda E. Stuhr

May 28, 1963 — August 10, 2017

Brenda E (Cronk) Stuhr, 54, of Holmen, ran into the arms of her waiting Savior Thursday, August 10 th at Gundersen Health Center, surrounded by the prayers of her loving family, just as she wished. She will be missed dearly but we are comforted she will be forever praising and singing with the angels.

Brenda’s family was most important in her life. She enjoyed every moment and opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to sing and did it often, whether it was worship songs or songs she made up for her grandchildren. She also loved the beach, especially the warm, teal waters of the Gulf of Mexico, which she was able to visit earlier this year in May. She spent each evening on the beach watching the sun disappear on the horizon, of which took many pictures and videos. She also loved the warm sun on her face and sand between her toes.

She was born May 28 th , 1963, to Tom and Barb (McIntire) Cronk in La Crosse, WI. She was the first of five children born to young parents, which ended up being very similar to how her own family would start. She graduated from Logan High School in 1981. She was very active in high school with Cheerleading, Choir, and Track. She had the opportunity recently to re-establish a relationship with a few wonderful women who were a tremendous support to her though her fight with cancer. One special relationship that developed through her show choir days was being partnered up with her eventual husband, Kevin. They were married August 14, 1982 and started their family just a short year later. 4 years and 4 months later, their family was complete. She was able to watch each of her children grow into wonderful, strong young adults and marry beautiful soul mates, and give her seven amazing grandchildren. She worked for Gundersen Health System for 20 plus years, starting out in the Onalaska vision center, insurance cashier office, as a float patient liaison and finally landing in the family medicine department. She transferred to the Galesville clinic in March 2016. She developed many work friendships and enjoyed talking with patients as they came in for appointments.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Kevin, and their children; Nathan and his fiancé Hailey Chism of La Crosse; Mandy (Chris) Becker of Holmen and their children Allison, Lindsey, Brynna, and Chasen; Kristin (Curtis) Radde of La Crosse and their daughter Eliza; Caryn (Shawn) Regenauer of Rockland and their sons Ethan and Wesley; Her parents Tom and Barb Cronk of La Crosse; Brothers Jeff (Shelly) Cronk of Onalaska; Dan (Chris) Cronk of West Salem; sisters Donna (Howard) Swyers of Bloomington, IN; and Sara (Seth) Camp of Onalaska.

There will be a time of visitation from 9:00-12:00 on Saturday August 19 th at Schumacher Kish funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave S. La Crosse. A celebration of life service will start at 12:00. A private family burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Steppin’ Out In Pink, The Gundersen Foundation, or the charity of your choice in her name.

Her wish in her last journal entry was “that we all have a true relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Give us ears to understand and hearts that follow”.
