Brenda ‘Peaches’ Jackson, resident of La Crosse, WI entered into eternal rest on July 3, 2023.
Peaches is survived by a large family:
Daughter Alexis, Son Randy, Three brothers: Fred (Sherry), Darnell (Linda), Renado (Amber), One Sister: Cynthia (Christine), Nine Grandchildren: Justyne, Ju’Leah, Justin, Aiyana, Genesis, Ava, Omari, Andrea, Micalah and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
There is no one like Peaches, nor will there ever be another like her. Who can match her quick wit and humor? Who has a laugh that when she enters the room you know who it is without looking? What about that brutal honesty? You didn’t want to hear it but you had to hear it. She used more adjectives than Webster’s Dictionary. Even if you wanted to be mad, you couldn’t. All you could do was laugh as she pointed out your shortcomings. Not to put you down mind you; but to make us laugh at ourselves. She was accepting of everyone and anyone.
What about those shredded $1 bills amidst her home décor? Why you ask? ‘Because it’s just money. It means nothing, people do.’ Hence the rapport she had with so many of us. She made you think, without even trying to.
And what about that talent? She could create a song at a moment’s notice. She was just being herself; being happy, as she danced or hula hooped down the street. Thankfully, Peaches made videos so we can watch them now and reflect. That was her gift to all of us. If you listen carefully, the songs are about her life and observations.
Here we are. Never thinking she would leave us this soon. The person that we could count on to make us laugh is gone. Even with the hardships she faced, she didn’t fret or let it bring her down. She persevered with her resilience and positive attitude. The emptiness we feel is from the actual impact she has had on each of us. We all have our own memories that we take with us.
Until we meet again Peaches, be the entertainer that you are and dance in the Heavens.
