Brenda K. (Humm) Sibik

Brenda (Humm) Sibik, age 49 of Holmen, completed her life journey after a brave battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends who adored her.

Brenda was born on March 10, 1968 to Karen (Kammel) and Donald Humm. She was the youngest of three girls. Brenda graduated from Central High School in 1986. In 1999 she married the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Sibik. Jerry and Brenda have two wonderful boys, Austin (age 15) and Evan (age 13).

Her world revolved around her precious family and friends. She was such a devoted, loving wife and mother. Brenda loved camping, the holidays, attending the boy’s sporting and school events, family get-togethers, her dog Coda, putzing in her garden, and hanging with the tight group of families from her neighborhood. We will all miss her big smile!

She made life-long friends during her employment at Gundersen Clinic, Kaplan, and especially her “kids” and co-workers at Prairie View Elementary where she was an Educational Assistant.

Brenda is survived by Jerry, her loving husband of almost 18 years; her sons Austin and Evan Sibik; her father Donald Humm and his partner, Lois Mercer; sisters, Linda (Andrew) Temte and Donna (Russell) Flower of La Crosse; her nephews, Brandon and Nicholas Temte, Casey Flower and her niece, Lindsey Flower. She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Humm and her infant sister Mary.

We would like to thank Brenda’s caregivers and everyone who was part of “Brenda’s Army” for their support.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5-8pm on Wednesday, June 21st at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home at 907 Sand Lake Road in Onalaska, WI. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts should be made in the name of Jerry Sibik and will be invested in college savings funds for Austin and Evan.
