Bradley A. Strom

Bradley Alexander Strom, 61, died at his home in La Crescent on Monday, May 7, 2018.

He was born in La Crosse on December 30, 1956, to Marshall and Juanita (Slaver) Strom. He attended La Crosse schools and was a 1975 graduate of Central High School. In his early years, Brad worked in the textile industry as a sewing machine mechanic and manager. In 1995, he purchased the family business, Strom Monument Works in Sparta, Wis., from Roger and Joan Strom which manufactured and provided monuments.

On April 30, 1988, Brad married Cheryl Dettmering. They were married for 26 years and had two wonderful daughters, Alexandra and Samantha. Brad loved waterskiing and being on the river. Other hobbies and family activities included camping in Hatfield, snowmobiling, NASCAR auto racing, rooting for the Packers and Badgers, and bowling.

Brad is survived by his daughters, Alexandra (Justin Joy) and Samantha (Trevor Groth); his former wife, Cheryl; brothers-in-law, Mike (Sarah) and Jeff Dettmering; brothers, Larry, Keith, Stan and Kim; a sister, Sandy (Tom); Uncle Roger and Aunt Joan; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and many aunts and uncles.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 24 th , at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Rd., Onalaska.
