Bob Gaul

Robert “Bob” F. Gaul, 82, of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

He was born in La Crosse on June 17, 1935, to Earl and Bernice (Lewis) Gaul. On January 4, 1956, Bob married Evelyn M. Apka in La Crosse. Evelyn preceded him in death on October 31, 2013.

Bob worked as a truck driver with various trucking firms in the La Crosse area throughout his life. He retired as a member of Teamsters Local 710, having originally become a member in 1959. In his free time, Bob enjoyed drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, spending time with his family and playing Yahtzee.

Bob is survived by his children, Martin (JoBeth) Gaul, Michelle (Tim) Smith, Wendy (Franz) Wiggert, Bob (Tammy) Gaul, and Sherri “Pooh” Hansen (Cindy), all of La Crosse; sixteen grandchildren, Kris, Katie, Timothy, Bob, CoCo, Melissa, Kari, Jamie, Emily, Jordyn, Jace, Meghan, Alex, Ashley, Christopher and Morgen; numerous great grandchildren; one brother and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Evelyn, Bob was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pam Laylan in 2007; a son-in-law, Jeff Voves; a grandchild, Luke Hansen; a great grandchild, Kylan Benson; one brother; and his beloved dog, Joy.

A private family celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. Bob’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the 6 ^th floor Palliative Care team at Gundersen Health System for their wonderful care.
