On Monday, April 13th, 2020, Bill Bahr passed away in his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Bill was born on October 1st, 1951, in La Crosse, to Bernie and Louise Bahr. He graduated from Central High School and worked to become a skilled carpenter. On June 3rd, 1983, he married Kathy Blenka, and the two spent 38 loving years together.
In his early years, Bill loved to spend his time boating, hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He could also be heard rooting on the Green Bay Packers at home or at Lambeau Field. One of his favorite past times was making his world-renowned homemade brats, hotdogs, ring bologna, and sausage sticks. During retirement, Bill enjoyed spending time with his Florida friends and his Tuesday golf group working to improve his golf swing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren as they brought him great joy.
Bill was greatly loved for his kind and generous heart and wonderful sense of humor. His wit and strong personality will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and large community of friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children and grandchildren, Rick Bahr and his family, Christina (Todd) Neumeister and their family, Nick (Kelli) Bahr and their children, Riley, Brynn and Sloan Bahr, Amy Bahr and her daughter, Myah Lenardson, and Michelle (Cameron) Roy; along with his siblings, Vince (Ruth) Bahr, Jon (Jane) Bahr, Sandy (Jeff) Mitchell, Julie (Steve) Kish, Lisa (Craig) Bartheld, and Joe (Amy) Bahr; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Louise Bahr; his sister, Diane; brother, Mike, and his wife, Holly.
A very special thank you to Bill’s hospice team, especially Jenna and Jennifer, for providing comfort and peace during his final days.
