Beverly J. Mach, 84 of La Crosse passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Eagle Crest South Senior Living. She was born June 13, 1935 in Mitchell, S.D. to Edwin and Thelma (Kinney) Mayer. Beverly graduated from Tripp, S.D. High School and received her teacher’s certificate from Yankton College, S.D. She later graduated from Minot State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
On August 5, 1956 she married Milo Mach in Tripp, South Dakota. Beverly worked in Career Services at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse as a Career Advisor for many years. She served two terms on the La Crosse County Board. Beverly belonged to the League of Women Voters, the Sierra Club, Mississippi Valley Conservancy, La Crosse County Historical Society and Habitat for Humanity.
As a child she traveled with her family, visiting every National Park in the continental United States. Later, she and Milo traveled to many countries around the world.
Beverly is survived by her three children; Kristy Mach (Rich Krawetz) of St. Paul, Steve (Anne) Mach and Terry (Elizabeth) Mach both of La Crosse; her partner, Mike Schmidt of La Crosse; five grandchildren, Allan, Raymond, Kenneth, Milo and Margarete; two sisters, Judy (Herb) Meserve of New York and Carol (Delmar) Guthmiller of South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband Milo, her parents and two sisters, Gloria Lippert and Sylvia Mayer.
A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 1 st at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse with Rev. Karen Bankes officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 1 st at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:30 P.M. Private burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse.
